My Approach to Helping
I come at therapy with a holistic, person-centered, integrative approach. I combine evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), with Existential Therapy. My background is in working with LGBQ+ and TGNCNB clients (including folks on the aromantic and asexual spectrums), and parents of LGBTQ+ individuals. I also have a background working with clients diagnosed with eating disorders at higher levels of care (partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient), and people with comorbid diagnoses (often an eating disorder with PTSD, etc.) My practice is informed by anti-oppression, fat liberation, HAES (Health at Every Size), and anti-racism.
