My Approach to Helping
My approach above all is gentle, pragmatic and therapeutic. I believe that anyone can start improving their lives from the very first therapy session! I use eclectic styles of therapy modalities (Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt and other approaches). It is important to focus on joining the client where they are and gently guide them toward recovery and healing. I work with clients on their most immediate issues of concern at the beginning of a therapeutic process, and then focus on identifying client's long term goals and help them achieve their goals, and pursue their dreams. I believe that being able to reach one's goals is one of the fundamental ingredients of success, and I can help you to identify, and move forward toward your goals (whether is may be to decrease your suffering, depression, anxiety, improve relationships, pursue vocational goals, or other goals). My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
One of the purposes of psychotherapy is to promote healing. The Art of Psychotherapy consists in applying precision of utilization of a therapist's acquired knowledge, talent and creativity to decrease, ease, and heal the emotional suffering of one's soul that we call "our psyche." A therapist, must above all, constantly hone his or her skills to effectively help patients. If one merely applies the techniques, resistance is bound to arise; the heart might reject it. If no technique is used, void of knowledge and experience, the mind will question it. The technique must be effective, pragmatic to the mind, and authentic and true to the heart. It should able to surpass the heart and the mind to reach into the subconscious where a positive seed can safely begin to take it's course and continue to blossom, overthrowing the negative schema of the beliefs that no longer serve us.
