My Approach to Helping
I am a compassionate and engaged therapist who works with the whole person, couple or family to assist them in developing emotional intelligence and self-compassion so that they can heal, thrive and meet the challenges of life. We all experience times of stress and instability in life, and it is in such times that therapy can provide the necessary tools to help individuals, couples or families to un-do maladaptive patterns and find calm and joy in relationships and life again.
More Info About My Practice
I am an out-of-network provider and I have a sliding fee. I have both daytime and evening hours. I also provide group psychotherapy for those individuals who wish to work in a collaborative and interpersonal group setting.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I work individual, couples and families with substance abuse issues and with those struggling with anxiety, depression, and bi-polar disorder. I have experience working with heterosexual, gay, lesbian, transgender and queer individuals, couples and families.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
The purpose of psychotherapy is to find emotional healing and to gain skills in interpersonal relationship so that each individual, couple, or family can find joy and fulfillment in life and relationships and meet their own life goals.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love being a part of clients' growth and development throughout the stages of life. Good mental health is at the core of a healthy and joyful life. I'm passionate about assisting clients during the struggles of life and seeing the growth that comes from in-depth emotional exploration.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to provide a compassionate and flexible space for clients to explore, heal, and grow. My role is also to provide clients with the skills they need to meet life's challenges and to reach their goals.
