My Approach to Helping
Through an empathic, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic approach, I will focus on helping you understand what is getting in the way of you feeling more fulfilled in life. Perhaps you question your ability to sustain meaningful and lasting relationships. Or you worry about how others see you, spend too much energy trying to please people, and doubt your attractiveness and worthiness to them. I believe therapy can help you to develop a more authentic relationship with yourself, allowing you to be more clear in your communication with others. I have ample experience and enjoy working with clients struggling with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and career concerns.
I work mainly from a psychodynamic perspective; my focus is on helping you to understand your current symptoms or concerns by examining both current and early life experiences and problematic relationships patterns. I believe insight gained through this process can allow you to make healthier choices and improve the quality of your life.
