My Approach to Helping
I'm a psychologist and the Executive Director of the Institute for Personal Growth (IPG) in New Jersey and New York City. I practice therapy myself and supervise the other thirty-five IPG therapists in our private practice. We believe that people come to therapy with the power to heal themselves, that there is an inner guiding light that will take them to their goals. It's our job to help you unleash your own power and find the light within you. We keep ourselves trained in the most current evidence-based techniques while understanding that, in the end, it is the person-to-person connection that makes therapy and healing possible. We know that compassion, understanding, and wisdom are as important in therapy as skill. To learn more about our practice, please visit our website.
More Info About My Practice
IPG is a private group psychotherapy practice in central and northern New Jersey as well as in NYC. Our offices are in Highland Park, Jersey City, Freehold and Manhattan. We are trained in a broad range of eclectic approaches to individual counseling, relationship therapy, sex therapy, hypnotherapy, and EMDR (rapid treatment for trauma and anxiety). We see children, adolescents and adults, work with insurance companies, and take credit cards. Our offices are easily accessible from central and north Jersey via the major highways and public transportation. We can accomodate preferences for a therapist based on gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation. We employ thirty-five therapists, with office hours six days and evenings per week. All our therapists are licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers or licensed professional counselors. In addition, four of our staff are AASECT-Certified Sex Therapists (one a Diplomate in sex therapy); nine are EMDR-trained; several are CADC's (Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors); many are Certified Imago Relationship Counselors; and one is a Certified Psychodramatist.
