My Approach to Helping

Each of us has a story, a life worthy of being shared. It is through re-telling our stories in therapeutic spaces that we come to understand our motivations, find our voices, and gain control over how our story unfolds.

I recognize the importance of maintaining a work-life balance. By tapping into what you're passionate about, together we can work to create more satisfying and meaningful relationships so you get the utmost joy out of life. I enjoy helping clients acquire concrete skills to increase their ability to cope in more resilient and flexible ways with the daily challenges life brings.

I often work with those adjusting to life transitions that include: parenting, divorce & infidelity, trauma or loss, career and relationship challenges, as well as those hoping to create a closer connection to their partner. I provide a compassionate environment, infused with energy, humor and commitment, tailored to meet the needs of each client.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to my private practice, I have also worked with children, adolescents, and their families as a school-based social worker helping families navigate stressors. Prior to my work in the mental health field, I enjoyed a career in Documentary and Narrative Film as a Writer, Producer, and Director. My past work in the creative field enhanced my attunement with clients in the arts as well as with individuals motivated to strike out in a new direction.

I have completed advanced training in psychodynamic therapy at the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center (PPSC) and in couples therapy through the Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Additionally, my practice is enhanced by the specialized training I have received in (ACT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, (IFS) Internal Family Systems and Trauma theory. On an ongoing basis, I continue to develop my education through supervision and workshops.
