My Approach to Helping
I am here to support you in your search for meaning and fulfillment as you navigate life’s complexities in our often-frantic city. An authentic, caring therapeutic relationship is a powerful tool in the transformation of your challenges into resilience and growth. Just as none of our circumstances are ever quite the same, there is no one size fits all approach to what will best help you.
Our time together will focus on assisting you in developing healthy coping skills, setting new goals, changing unwanted habits, increasing awareness, constructing meaning, and creating emotional balance. When appropriate I will use the healing power of humor to bring lightness into the room. My work with couples focuses on areas including communication, emotional intimacy, cross-cultural issues, and sexuality.
While I am trained primarily in trauma, existential psychology, and attachment theory, I draw upon a variety of holistic treatments. I hold dual graduate degrees in Philosophy and Mental Health Counseling and was trained by Esther Perel in couples’ therapy.
