My Approach to Helping
Life can be hectic and overwhelming, and sometimes moves so fast there is no chance to reflect. Therapy provides a safe and comfortable space to think about how life can be made better. In this space, one comes to understand the deeper meanings of the issues at hand, gain the emotional tools to solve these problems, and become more confident in decisions that are made. Therapy can help to slow life down, and helps people find a place in it that fits who they are.
I work with adults and children in individual, couples and group therapy. I encourage people to choose which mode of therapy best suits their own situation. If you have any questions about what type of therapy might work for you, or how therapy might be helpful in your situation, please reach out to me.
More Info About My Practice
I am currently an in-network provider with Blue Cross-Blue Shield. In addition, people with insurance plans with out-of-network benefits are able to submit bills for therapy to be reimbursed for part of all of the costs of their visits. To help clarify, you may contact your insurance company before the first session to clarify the following aspects of your specific plan;
1) Does your plan offer out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy?
2) Is there a deductible for out-of-network benefits, and has it already been partially or fully met?
3) What is the rate of reimbursement for psychotherapy?
I offer a sliding scale, and my fees range from $100-$160. Fees are set at the end of the first session, and are paid weekly in cash or check.
My Therapy Focus
I work with people on a wide array of issues, such as: anxiety, depression, identity confusion, problematic relationships, trauma, addiction, lack of motivation, LGBT issues, low self-esteem, work or school related stress, and struggles adjusting to a medical condition. While I have been trained in many diverse types of therapy, such as psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family therapy, I try to be flexible in meeting a new person, and cater my approach to the needs of their situation. Above everything, I try to create a comfortable atmosphere where people feel safe enough to be open about all that is happening in their lives.
