My Approach to Helping

I am a licensed professional counselor located in downtown Washington, D.C. I specialize in queer topics, mood disorders, behavior modification, attachment, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. My clients are adults, children, teens, and families seeking a safe space to process challenges, practice acceptance, gain strength, and secure support. I strive to maintain a high level of cultural competency, and I am fortunate to have experience working with a variety of genders, sexual expressions, relationship styles, races, and backgrounds.

My Therapy Focus

My approach to our therapeutic relationship is simple; I am here to provide a safe, understanding space for you to process challenges, practice acceptance, identify solutions when needed, and become your most authentic and fulfilled self. Let's grow together.

My training allows me to offer the following specialized treatments:
Exposure Response Prevention for OCD
Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment of BFRB?s
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

I also utilize the following theories of therapy in my sessions:
Person-Centered Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Groups I Work With

I have worked with a diverse population of individuals in mental health settings, including gender-variant adults and children, sexual minorities, individuals with mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, body-focused repetitive behaviors like trichotillomania, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and adults living with HIV.

I am most passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community. I was fortunate enough to spend the first 5 years of my career at one of the nation’s largest queer counseling centers. Gender and sexuality are endlessly fascinating to me, and I take great pride in providing the highest level of queer-informed care. While I work with many clients in the process of coming out to self and others, my primary goal as a queer-informed counselor is to simply ensure that LGBTQ+ Washingtonians have a space for therapy where they don’t have to explain their sexuality or relationship style, worry about being misgendered, or “teach” their therapist about the community.
