My Approach to Helping
Change is inevitable. Conversations that lead to you achieving what you most hope for are invaluable. Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a process I use to help you notice and amplify the outcome you desire. I use SFBT to work with any relational, sexual or other issue you bring with to our conversation with discretion, sensitivity, collaboration, creativity. I know that any outcome you desire can amplified by conversations that clarify in detail:
- what your best hopes are
- what achieving them will do for your life
- what you have already done and/or are already doing to contribute to you succeeding.

I can work with you either in person in my Manhattan office or by secure video-conference, as long as you reside in New York State.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
While I sincerely welcome all clients, I have an affinity for creative people (many of my clients are in the arts) as well as sexual and other minorities - people who are not easily categorized - be they bisexual , biracial, multicultural, people in mixed orientation relationships, those who identify as kinky, LGTBQI, polyamorous or in some way alternative, as well as those who consider themselves sexually inexperienced or "not that into sex", where this is a problem for them or a partner.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Each and every session should provide you with something useful and stand on it's own. While I believe most of what needs to happen in therapy can take place in 4 or fewer sessions, you are welcome to attend at any frequency you choose. Most of the benefits of therapy occur and can be observed between sessions. Many of my clients finish a chapter of work with me, then return, sometimes years later, to do another chapter. Once I've worked with you, I am able to remember your story and am happy pick up our work again.
