My Approach to Helping
Whether you are in the midst of a crisis, stuck in repetitive self-destructive patterns or dealing with a relationship problem, I am committed to helping you work through the psychological barriers that interfere and guiding you toward greater clarity, satisfaction, and fulfillment.
I am an experienced psychologist who works with adults of all ages. My treatment approach is empathic, collaborative and pragmatic. We look at what your early experience can teach us about your personality, relationship patterns, and current struggles. We also use our relationship as a source of information and support. By applying the self-awareness you gain in our work together you can direct your own life in healthy ways.
Exploring your deepest hopes and fears isn't always easy but self-awareness is the key to living an authentic, emotionally rich life. I do my best to help you develop greater trust in yourself and others, greater self-confidence and healthy self-assertion. My objective is to assist you in finding the resources within yourself to achieve your true potential, accomplish personal and professional goals and lead a life worth celebrating.

Finding a therapist with whom you can feel comfortable can feel daunting. I work with you to create a confidential, safe relationship. Together, we determine your goals for treatment and a plan for implementing them.
People who work with me often comment that I am compassionate, easy to talk to about difficult concerns and a good listener. I respect my patients and am nonjudgmental about their problems.
I offer individual, couples and group psychotherapy. I also utilize a scientifically-proven technique called EMDR that makes use of the brain's natural capacity for healing to dissipate traumatic memories.
My office is conveniently located on the upper west side of Manhattan.

My practice specializations are divorce recovery, grief and loss, and lawyer burnout. If you are struggling in the aftermath of a divorce, I can show you how to overcome the feelings of fear, sadness, anger, shame and self-blame that are keeping you unhappy and stuck and create a second chapter in your life filled with self-love and joy. When you are ready, I will help you find love again. If you are grieving a major loss or are a lawyer on the verge of burnout I can help you reclaim your life. I also help people affected by trauma, PTSD, phobias and performance anxiety by using a scientifically-proven technique called EMDR that utilizes the brain's innate capacity for self-healing to dissipate traumatic memories.
