My Approach to Helping

I think it is a privilege to be invited into my clients lives, and I am so glad you are here.

My philosophy on therapy is based on the power of introspection, understanding our relationships with others, and the knowledge that we all have the capacity to make changes in our lives. My belief is that my role as a therapist is to help you explore yourself in the setting of a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment. I will help you understand yourself better in the context of all of your relationships both past and present, and we will work together to help you make the changes you seek in life. Most importantly, I want to help you find a sense of peace in becoming your most authentic self. I decided to become a therapist in large part because therapy has made such a profound difference in my life, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to pay that forward to you.

If you are looking for someone who wants to actively work with you and not just someone who will listen and nod, then I would love to hear from you!

More Info About My Practice

I oversee a team of therapists at my practice who specialize in working with young adults in navigating all of the unique challenges that this phase of life presents. At the forefront of our work is the knowledge that the strength and quality of the connections and relationships in your life (including the one you will have with your therapist!) will be the number one predictor of happiness. We use that knowledge to inform everything we do--from the way we show up in session to be fully present and develop a meaningful, authentic relationship with you; to the types of recommendations, perspectives, and insights we will offer you. While we all have our own unique style, sense of humor, and specialties; all of our therapists are deeply passionate about this work and feel honored to be invited into your life.

Our practice also offers a variety of workshops and groups. The next workshop is for couples and is being hosted on October 14th and 15th:

The Seven Principles workshop is based on the world-renowned research of The Gottman Institute and New York Times bestselling book—The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. Their evidence-based approach boasts a 91% accuracy in predicting divorce, and in turn, in understanding exactly what qualities are necessary to nurture a happy, healthy relationship. This workshop is designed to help couples at all stages of commitment—be it dating, engaged or married. Over the course of two immersive days couples will gain invaluable tools and skills necessary to maintain a thriving, lasting relationship. Please email me if you are interested in learning more!
