My Approach to Helping
Psychiatry for Women: I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is ANCC board certified and a former Certified Nurse Midwife, with over 30 years of experience. My specialty is in women’s mental health throughout the reproductive and menopausal years. I work with women struggling with emotional symptoms throughout every stage of childbearing; preconception through pregnancy, postpartum, lactation, early parenting, and menopause. Although I utilize psychotherapy and psychopharmacology, my treatment philosophy centers on treating the whole person as well as integrating complementary and integrative health techniques.
Reproductive Psychiatry Specialty Areas: Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, Pre-Pregnancy Planning, Infertility, Adoption, Pre-Natal Care, Postpartum Care, Medication Management, Miscarriage, Abortion, Reproductive Loss & Grief.
I also work with individuals suffering from grief after serious medical diagnoses, such as cancer, and am trained in MCP (meaning centered psychotherapy, MSKCC). I support patients dealing with life transitions, parenting issues, self-esteem problems, and general life stress.
