My Approach to Helping
A confidential and compassionate relationship starts from our first phone conversation. I will do everything possible to make sure that you feel safe, supported, and respected during the therapeutic process. Contacting a therapist takes courage. However, when you feel deeply respected and understood, the various paths to a happier life can become clearer, and you can move past whatever pain is holding you back.
More Info About My Practice
During the initial consultation process, I will listen to what is bringing you to therapy at the moment. Together, we will form a plan that will help you achieve your goals in psychotherapy. I have specific experience helping young adults with learning differences to adapt to the workforce and working with couples to deepen communication and intimacy, and I am also bilingual in Spanish.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
It is understandable to feel some ambivalence when starting therapy. Maybe you have had negative experiences in the past, and maybe you are unsure about what therapy has to offer. I have found that some of the most successful therapeutic relationships start with patients who are initially uncertain about the merits of therapy. Consider this: if seeing a therapist could improve the quality of your life and relationships, would you ever want to miss that opportunity?
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The most important factor in choosing a therapist is selecting someone with whom you feel comfortable sharing your most vulnerable thoughts and feelings. The best therapist for you is someone who will meet you right where you are. Please feel free to make use of my complementary initial phone consultation so we can get to know each other.
