Feel stuck, stressed, anxious, sad, or angry? Find yourself repeating behaviors you wish you didn't or are unable to communicate effectively? Maybe a combination of these? You are not alone. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help you alleviate and better manage unwanted cycles of behaviors, thoughts, and feelings long term. I specialize in effective communication and in the reduction of anxiety, stress, anger, depression, and addictive or self-destructive behavior. I have helped many people increase their life fulfillment, instill balance, better their relationships, and reach goal attainment and healing. I tailor treatment to your specific needs in a caring, safe and supportive space.
My professional background includes over a decade in private practice, providing clinical instruction for graduate mental health programs and for those seeking clinical licensure. I have served as director for addiction, cognitive behavioral therapy clinics and residential programs. I supervise staff at a LGBTQ+ mental health clinic and have been featured in various media outlets.
Therapy is at your pace. We may examine the past to explore ways it has shaped things in your life, but focus on the here and now of healing and coping tool development. Everyone has the potential to grow, improve and change and you deserve space to do this.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is an evidence-based scientific practice that helps with positive life changes and symptom relief. Therapy can help you highlight and put into use life tools you have and are not fully using, and or learn and integrate useful new ones. We all have behaviors, thoughts or relationships that we would like to change however, simply wanting that change is often times not enough. Desire for change is a great beginning. Actually implementing, and then maintaining, those changes can be a real challenge.
My goal as a therapist is to help you alleviate frustrating, overwhelming and painful patterns, getting you "unstuck" as quickly as possible. I focus on long term positive change, goal achievement and increased life satisfaction.
Every therapist is different, and it is important you are working with someone you feel you can trust and a good fit with. If you are thinking about scheduling an appointment, I encourage you to give me a call for a free phone consultation.
