My Approach to Helping

Through courageous and inclusive collaboration, I support clients seeking a life full of growth, empathy, and connectedness.

I identify as a relational therapist who helps clients develop an emotional understanding of themselves within the whole context of their lives. Clients learn to tolerate, track and make use of a broad range of affects, emotions, and feelings by drawing from modalities such as psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I search for what is distinctive and precious within every individual’s lived experience to help my clients feel empowered and whole by unearthing their own unique histories, perspectives, and capabilities. I am committed to creating a space where clients explore both devastating loss and joyful success by offering support, insight, empathy, and connectedness. My personal therapy experience has taught me healing means learning how to tolerate and accept the painful aspects along with the joyful and spectacular moments of life.

More Info About My Practice

I am committed to living an intentional and self-aware life, in which I examine my personal history, social position, and values. It is important to practice holding multiple perspectives and ambiguities that are operating simultaneously in our world. It can be really hard to tolerate difference, but the more we practice it the more we can actually embody self love and acceptance. I currently volunteer for Manna Community Center, which supports the houseless community and connects guests with resources such as housing, SNAPfood stamps, transportation, insurance, and fuel assistance. Additionally, I help distribute Narcan, clean needles, and fentanyl strips to the Center’s guests in reflection of Manna’s harm-reduction philosophy. I love animals (especially cats!), believe in a strong mind-body connection and use exercise to keep me grounded, present, and in community with others. I am an avid cook and cherish the evenings I spend with my partner or friends.
