My Approach to Helping
Janay Bailey is a Mental Health Counselor who has a passion for people. She believes her mission and duty in this life is to help others live the life they truly deserve. Janay takes a calm yet effective approach to therapy, believing that when a client embarks on a therapeutic journey it can be life changing.
Janay’s theoretical orientation is a combination of Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy believing that the client knows best while also using CBT techniques to help a client challenge their patterns of thinking. She also believes that spirituality plays a huge role in the lives of many individuals and wants to incorporate that aspect in her work with you.
Janay’s previous work involved facilitating group therapy on various populations, including those with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse disorders, trauma, and other mood disorders. She specialized in providing CBT, DBT, stress management, self-esteem, and a wide range of groups to meet the needs of her patients.
Janay received a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
