Introducing GoodCause: Help Support Nonprofits through GoodTherapy.org!

GoodCausePicGoodTherapy.org is pleased to announce the implementation of GoodCause! GoodCause is our new sponsorship campaign designed to support not-for-profit organizations aligned with the GoodTherapy.org mission and vision. GoodTherapy.org membership and readership is currently at an all-time high, and we are honored to connect with nonprofit organizations to encourage our growing audience to give their time, support, and awareness to these good causes. The GoodTherapy.org GoodCause campaign aims to highlight and promote the honorable work of these organizations through increased visibility in marketing and social media efforts, as well as fundraising from therapist members of GoodTherapy.org and the general public.

New members signing up with GoodTherapy.org will now have the opportunity to donate to the GoodCause program during registration.  Other people interested in supporting GoodCause may submit donations of any amount here. There is no minimum or maximum donation amount. All donations go through GoodTherapy.org’s secure system to the chosen GoodCause organization, which will change periodically.

The first GoodCause we are featuring is the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV, ncadv.org). The NCADV strives to eliminate domestic violence, empower victims, and unify direct service programs.  NCADV also educates the public about domestic violence, as well as how to recognize and eliminate it from our culture. From public policy and legal advocacy to financial education programs, the NCADV supports survivors of domestic violence at the local, regional, and national level.

Spread the word about GoodCause! Like us, these organizations are dedicated to reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues, and they deserve recognition for their work. Share your support with your friends on social media and encourage them to get involved as well.  If you are affiliated with a nonprofit organization that fits in with our mission and vision and would like your nonprofit organization to be considered for GoodCause, please contact us.

Great initiative! I’ve been a long time visitor of GoodTherapy. And it is encouraging to see that GT is getting involved in helping organizations that strive to make a change to the on-ground situations. Your choice for the first organization is pot on too, and I would be glad to help, as many others would be too, I’m sure. Keep up the great work, GoodTherapy!

What a wonderful partnership that this is going to be.
I think that a lot of people in society take the non profits for granted and think that they are going to continue to be funded just because.
But those of us in this field know better. I know the hard work that goes into grant writing and pounding the payment for donations and contributions and fundraising. Just because we are doing a whole lot of work does not always guarantee that we can sustain our existence without the help of a whole lot of people. This is something that will help many of us in the non profit world tremendously.

a very noble initiative.good to see organizations teaming up to help those in need of support.a suggestion-rather than changing the organization periodically, there could be a few (say 3 to 5)organizations working in different fields and the donor could choose which organization or cause he would want to make the donation to.

this way it would help those that feel more inclined to donate to a cause that is close to their heart and also opens the window of opportunity for more than one organization at once.a great start and I hope this will be a success.

Brilliant partnership, and a very good way to get the word out about these organizations that often do so much good behind the scenes but which are rarely rewarded or recognized for their efforts.

another thing so great about this is that i feel like a lot of times i want to help but you don’t know what’s legit and what could be a scam. i know for sure that if i see something on this site then it is a reputable cause and i can feel okay with it
