My Approach to Helping
My approach to helping individuals, couples and adolescents is to form a practical, caring and supportive relationship. Depending on the issue I use a variety of counseling interventions. Certain psychological issues of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, anger, or feelings of low-self worth often require specific interventions. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques and Psychotherapy, proven ways to effectively treat depression and anxiety, to help identify and change life patterns that lead to negative feelings and lack of fulfillment in life.
With couples, I work to help re-build trust in the relationship, create new patterns of communication and re-establish caring ways to connect together. Healing in relationships takes time and I offer the perspective of a caring therapist to help develop new ways to change self-defeating patterns in the relationship.
