My Approach to Helping
Therapy can get you through life's challenges, help you discover your true self, and allow you to enjoy more freedom, flow, and vitality. As your therapist, I can offer a calm presence, deep listening, and acceptance coupled with a safe space for you to slow down and engage your natural strengths, innate wisdom, and deep-rooted resilience in the pursuit of positive change, inner peace, and passionate living.
Using an existential approach to therapy that integrates mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and body-mind-spirit practices taken from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we will bring a balance of curiosity, comic relief, candor, compassion, and challenge to the therapeutic process while working together to seek insights, cultivate acceptance, ponder different perspectives, explore possibilities, clarify what’s important, and do what matters.
Over time, you can trust this process of exploration, discovery, and growth will begin to shift your relationship with yourself, others, and life in new and empowering ways as well as provide effective tools and strategies for coping with the usual stressors, unexpected events, and daily demands.
