My Approach to Helping
Strong emotions like stress, anger, fear, frustration and feeling stuck sabotage our sense of well-being. But they are important information, these feelings. They tell us something needs to change! Working with a therapist can offer a different perspective and information we may need to turn things around. Whether the problem is within ourselves or in our important relationships, lots of healthy tools are available to create ease, build self-confidence, and help you clarify your values. Addictions, anxiety, depression, and other negative coping patterns are our body's way of trying to cope, though we know they create more distress. Learning to breathe, observe, and shift to healthier choices in coping with problems is not only possible, it is transforming.

I am NADA certified to use auricular acupuncture for relaxation and detoxification, when circumstances call for it. I do not accept insurance but will provide my clients with a receipt which they may submit. Finding a therapist that is a good fit is important; I offer a complimentary 20 minute phone consultation to help you make that decision.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Seeking help through therapy is still pretty "woo-woo" for many people. The fact is, there is so much information and scientific research that can offer us a fresh perspective and tools to more successfully manage our life challenges. I often say the solution is at the bottom or your pocket or your purse, you just haven't found it lately. You know more than you know, and information, skill, and encouragement will get you back on track. I want to support clients in becoming more relaxed and fully themselves, and creating more joy and health in their relationships.
