When individuals come to my office space, they are immediately welcomed for taking a difficult step towards change. Sometimes, our life experiences take a toll on our lives that we are lose pieces of yourself, experience the pain of depression and anxiety, and lose touch with others in our lives. Having a supportive, client centered therapist to listen to and provide intervention can be effective for many people.

If you are seeking treatment, this may consist of 6 and more sessions focused upon teaching you the skills to achieve greater positive experiences and added support to help you manage difficult experiences, such as trauma, divorce/separation, grief/loss and more.

My practice philosophy is, "inspiring change from within" and consists of using an approach which is client-centered, holistically based, bio-socially grounded, and geared to meet your specific needs and concerns. Change is driven by your hard work, as I guide you towards the place where you need to be in your life.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am skilled in helping adults, families, and young people. I use a holistic approach, which means that I understand that change is not only through using psychotherapy services but also making change within other areas of your life. I also believe in the importance of the whole person, which includes your spiritual beliefs, cultural background, family, history, trauma experiences, exercise and nutrition, workplace and career, and more. I help people to feel accepted and understood in their lives, and to figure out personal goals for themselves. I am also skilled at using tools such as worksheets, mindfulness and meditation, music, talk, art, storytelling and more to help you in your journey towards healing.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy, in my understanding, is the process of developing greater emotional connection with yourself by understanding how your past has influenced your behavior, by learning how to manage your emotions in a healthy way, and by learning skills to develop a higher sense of insight and inner purpose. It is a journey that includes all the pieces of your self; the past, the present and the goals for your future and developing a NEW story for yourself and your life.

My Therapy Focus

My therapy focus is client centered and holistic approach. I also use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, DBT informed practices, trauma informed therapy, family therapy, play and art therapy, and solution focused therapy.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Sometimes people do not always understand how therapy can be beneficial to themselves or other people. It is an opportunity for you to grow as an individual and heal from difficult experiences. Therapy is also a place where you can feel accepted and validated in a world where people can be judgemental and hurtful. Going to therapy does not mean you are flawed or weak, but rather it means you are taking control of your life experiences and seeking support to become more successful in your life.
