My Approach to Helping
It takes tremendous courage and self-awareness to change our old coping mechanisms when life’s stressors become overwhelming. I want to assure you that by checking out what supports are available to you out there; you are taking your first step towards creating meaningful change and personal growth.
I am Mandy Fang, the founder of Hopewoods Psychotherapy and Consulting Services. My 15 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and families with complex needs, combined with my own personal struggles with infertility and dealing with members from my extended family with bi-polar disorder provided me with a unique lens to view situations and comprehend the complex emotions behind human suffering.
I work with individuals struggling with how to deal with the impact of a wide range of concerns, such as anxieties, depression, PTSD, OCD, relationship issues, emotional disturbances, and adjustment issues. I also have extensive experience working with couples who require help with overcoming a major beach of trust, who become dysfunctional during conflict, as well helping them when they have lost their emotional connection. When you feel stuck in your relationship or contemplate a divorce, Hopewoods Psychotherapy can help. We are a group of highly trained psychotherapists and family counsellors who can help you mend your conflict-focused cycles and reconnect with your partners. I will work with you to determine the best therapy approach for your challenges in a safe, empathic, and professional atmosphere.
I have dual registrations as a registered Psychotherapist and a Clinical Social Worker in the Province of Ontario. I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Social Work in 2004, and a Master of Social Work from The University of Toronto in 2010. I have 15 years of experience serving vulnerable populations in the greater Toronto area. I have ample experience with issues of anxiety & depression, relationship and affair recovery, couple’s therapy, and anger management.
My approach is grounded in empathy and a warm professional atmosphere, and focusing on the various theoretical and clinical modalities allows me to practice in a way that uniquely fits with each individual and family I work with.
Seeking and engaging in counselling and therapy is hard work, but soon you will find that it is all a worthy effort. Having the courage to reach out and seek support is the first step on your pathway to recovery. We will walk along side with you.
