My Approach to Helping
My counselling style is rooted in authenticity, humility, curiosity and compassion. I am drawn to the growth that can occur for both parties in a therapeutic alliance and appreciate that a relationship requires trust, a sense of safety, and mutual understanding. I value collaboration, genuine connection, creativity and spontaneity within the here and now of a session, and think these are important variables that assist in generating insight and self-awareness.
I practice using a mindful, client-centred, strength-based and solution-focused approach and am influenced by narrative and emotionally focused therapy. I strive to meet clients where they are at, and adapt my approach to suit their unique needs.
My practice is integrative, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive. I focus on empowerment and self-determination so that you can discover your preferred way of being and live with intention.
