My Approach to Helping
I practice nurturing, integrative therapy where each client has the opportunity to feel seen and treatment is a collaboration between you and I. As a Queer therapist, I particularly love working with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. My approach includes elements from CBT, somatic therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and narrative therapy. Together we can find the tools that will work best for whatever your current challenges are.

I provide in-person therapy on Mondays and Fridays in a beautiful, calming office located in Brooklyn Heights - close to almost all subway lines on Court Street. I'm also available via telehealth on other weekdays and weekends.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Meeting with a therapist each week allows the you the time and space to discuss anything that has been causing you stress, pain, worry, anxiety, and fear. Unlike talking about problems and challenges with friends and family, having a therapist is a private, confidential environment where the counselor has no personal connection to your life and so there is no risk sharing parts of yourself. A therapist has heard so many stories and is experienced at dealing with the struggles of the human condition; because of this, your therapist can normalize a feeling or behavior that you might assume is unique to you. This normalization process will help to release layers shame and guilt. Therapy is a place where you can learn how to process your feelings in a healthy way where you get undivided attention without the burden of history or judgment. There are so many benefits to therapy that I could write a twenty page essay about it. I hope you'll give it a try, it's a very worthy project and truly a gift to yourself.
