My Approach to Helping

You might be looking into therapy to help with a recent loss, difficult relationship, or life-limiting anxiety. Or you might just feel stuck and unsure how to move forward. A supportive relationship with a therapist is an empowering experience that can help you find your way, promote personal growth and initiate positive change.

As a relational therapist, I listen closely to your story as it unfolds, without judgement, and support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. As we make meaning of your experience, it will help you to see yourself with greater clarity and treat yourself more kindly.

We will pay attention to patterns that hold you back from living your best life. And we'll bring curiosity and compassion to looking at how these patterns emerged in your past, and present, relationships.

There is no quick fix here. But having the support of an empathic listener can help you heal from hurt and disappointment, and develop compassion for yourself and others. It is a strengths-based approach, which develops self-confidence and overall well-being, expanding your palette for responding to life's hardships and rewards.

I see individuals and couples in private practice. My office is a welcoming, relaxed, LGBTQ+ positive space where you can be assured of confidentiality, respect and personal autonomy.

More Info About My Practice

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy. My primary training is in the field of Relational Psychotherapy. I also have training in, and use, mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy where could enhance our work together.

Relational psychotherapy is a client-centered modality. I meet you where you are right now and offer a safe space where we can explore your needs, strengths and goals. My style has been described as relaxed, open, and empathic.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the arts. This background informs my approach to therapy, which is both collaborative and creative and is infused with curiosity and humour.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I lead relaxation-based yoga classes and Yoga For Anxiety groups aimed at managing stress and anxiety and promoting greater bodymind awareness and ease.
