My Approach to Helping
Let’s prioritize your wants, needs and desires. Therapy is a space where you get to receive the attention you may have not been gifting yourself. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or LGBTQIA+ challenges, we’ll collaborate to create a life that serves you on your terms.
I support adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of my specialties is providing support to LGBTQ+ populations. As a transgender woman, I know first-hand what it’s like to be part of an oppressed group living in a world that is unkind to people like me. As a result, I can understand and empathize with my trans and nonbinary clients’ lived experiences.
Throughout your therapeutic journey, we’ll explore and get curious about how past events relate to present day thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will then interweave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to reframe your thoughts and behaviors. If you experienced trauma and feel stuck, I’ll also use EMDR to facilitate reprocessing and give you tools to move forward.
We’ll collaborate to find out what works and what doesn't to ensure you experience positive change. It’s my hope that we not only give attention to your challenges but also prioritize your growth process. Our work together will focus on your openness, ability to cope when challenges surface, trusting yourself, internal evaluations, and continuing to grow into the unique human being that you are.
