My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy is founded on a deep respect for clients' unique perspectives and life experiences. I believe that meaningful and rewarding change can take place when we gain insight into how we approach various areas of our lives and how, in turn, our circumstances affect us. The process of understanding and change can begin in the "here and now" experience of a trusting therapeutic relationship. I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where acceptance and transformation can occur.
My areas of specialization include parenting struggles and other challenges that arise as families develop and change. I offer parenting courses and coaching based on the Positive Discipline system developed by Dr. Jane Nelson. Additionally, I am dedicated to working with children who have experienced traumas, including but not limited to medical trauma, physical, sexual, andor emotional abuse, separation, and loss of loved ones. Advanced training in evidenced-based Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Relational Life Therapy allows me to address intimate relationship issues at their roots and to guide clients through the process of change and growth.
Additional areas of expertise include play therapy, anxiety, depression, trauma, griefloss, self-esteem, self-identity, relationship issues, and personal growth. Several group treatment options are available as part of my practice as well. I am devoted to collaborating with my clients on their paths toward purpose, growth, and fulfillment. Throughout treatment, I seek to empower clients, provide tools for coping, and help bridge connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to allow for awareness and healing.
