My Approach to Helping
When humans experience trauma, change, or stress it is natural to feel like we are losing control. Hello, I'm Angela. I received my Master of Social Work degree from California State University Long Beach while working full-time doing crisis work and coordinating care for families.
I understand the pressures put on a person when choosing to ask for support. I am solutions-focused, have vast experience with crisis intervention, and have worked with children and families for 13 years. There can be no therapeutic relationship without trust. My goal with all my clients is to listen to their priorities and engage in collaboratively working on your goals. I have worked in Foster Care, Healthcare, and understand end-of-life feelings of grief and loss. My approach to life and practice is similar. I believe that as long as there is life tomorrow can be better. I live each day attempting to bring positive change to my environment. I specialize in trauma, medical concerns, LGBTQ+, and family struggles. I also speak teenager. I'm familiar with California Regional Centers, have participated in classroomIEP meetings, and have advocated for families.
As the proud mom of 11 four-legged children, I spend my spare time with my lap occupied and soul soothed. If you would like to chat about your goals and want to change your narrative I may be a good match.
