My Approach to Helping
I have a relaxed and conversational approach where I aim to help you reach your goals. I draw upon my professional experience and formal education, along with my years of practice and study of Buddhist philosophy and Ayurveda; including 6 years living in a Buddhist gompa. My goal is to help you understand more about yourself, your mind, your emotions, your relationships, and the situations in your life while working to apply practical psychological concepts with your own intelligence and mastery.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Our mental health is a bit ethereal. It changes and can be hard to put a finger on, therefore tricky to manage at times. On top of that, society has conflated mental illness with weakness. These things make it easy to put mental health as the last priority. As a result, we often don't get to it. This stigma isn't attached to physical illness, car maintenance, or home maintenance as much. I often like to use that as a comparison to check my view. Admittedly, I am more inclined to skip the doctor for a mild cold, but when things get a little more complicated I want to consult with a professional. Alternatively, if something goes wrong with my car or home that I can manage, I fix it. If I need help to handle it I reach out to a professional for help. Understanding your mind and emotions and learning how to manage them is not a weakness.
