My Approach to Helping

Combining creative, holistic, research supported techniques with traditional talk therapy. Most clients seeking therapy want lasting change. I am down to earth, compassionate, and straightforward. My therapy is experiential and reflective to help clients reveal their deeper truer self by finding clarity of path and voice. I utilize essential oils when working with clients, as well as reflective tools, and somatic body work to help awaken awareness of self. Within this work, clients come to understand that they are able to create change within themselves, and therefore create change outside of themselves and within their relationships.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Having a negative experience in therapy can actually be very helpful in finding your next therapist, if you are willing to give it a second chance. When you are looking for a therapist, it will be helpful to tell them about your experience in the past, and why it didn't work for you. If you have feelings of uncertainty about the process, talk about it with your potential counselor. Trust how you feel about them, because you may find that you gut has the right answer.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Would you agree that the relationship you have with your therapist is a big part of moving forward in your therapy and making progress? Having a strong therapeutic connection with your therapist is one of the most important things. And this can take time. After all, it can feel a little funny talking to a stranger about private things. If you don't feel comfortable, or you feel "off" with the therapist, more than likely, you won't feel safe enough to open up.

Being open takes trust, and building a trusting relationship can take time, as well as making sure you feel validated. Therefore, I like to follow your lead. You set the pace of your own therapy, and I will do my best to check in with you and establish good communication on my end. I want to make sure we are aligning with your goals and that you are getting what you need most from me.
