People seek therapy because they are in pain. This pain is sometimes related to a traumatic experience such as physical, sexual or emotional abuse, grief, loss, divorce, or something else that challenged their view of the world. I work specifically with people who are struggling because of a negative traumatic experience that they have endured.

Trauma can lead to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, irritability, and anger to name a few. Trauma has a tendency to make people feel as though they are stuck, even long after the actual event is over. People are left afraid to go about their daily life because of triggers, panic, and worry. Many people find themselves repeating the same relationship patterns over and over again but don't see a clear path for change.

If you relate to this experience, you are not alone. Healing starts here.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist, trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating modalities such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness and yoga therapy. I love helping people find the courage to heal and live more meaningful lives. My passion lies in helping people thrive.

If you are willing to work on yourself so that you can get out of pain and live a more satisfying life, than I would love to work with you. Call me today at (561) 251-9754 to set up your first appointment.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I specialize in helping people who have experienced trauma including physical/sexual/emotional abuse, combat, crisis, violence, illness, and divorce. I also specialize in working with people coping with grief, loss and bereavement issues. I find the human experience of such issues to be so profound, as grief and trauma are great equalizers.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

If you have had a negative therapy experience in the past I would love to hear why. It is helpful for me to understand what hasn't worked for you so that we can do it differently. I have found that an amazing therapist for one person may not be the best fit for another person.

I strive to be flexible and meet my clients where they are, not the other way around. If you need someone firm with limits I can be that person, but I can also be warm and nurturing if that feels more comfortable for you.

Many people I have worked with have shared with me that they did not feel heard before coming to me, even in prior work with other therapists. I will give you a space to be heard, to process, and most of all to heal.

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

I am trained in EMDR therapy. I have chosen this modality because I have seen again and again how much it really helps people resolve their issues that are keeping them stuck. I have used EMDR to help my clients process their trauma, as well as grief, anxiety and countless other issues. I believe thoroughly in the process of healing by working through issues in therapy.

My work is also heavily influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness based modalities, yoga therapy and inner-child work.

I feel strongly that each person I work with is a unique individual. Therefore I always pull from each of these theories as it is clinically useful to my client.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship between myself and my clients is paramount to the healing process. Your feelings are valid and you matter. I believe in the value of flexibility in our work together. I will always meet you where you are, without assumptions or judgement.

I look forward to collaborating with you and supporting you in your journey of learning to thrive, find joy in life, and heal.
