My Approach to Helping
Have you been noticing that your anxiety, worries, and inner critic are getting in the way of your happiness? Perhaps you find yourself stressing about the direction your life is taking, and that no matter how much you try, you just can’t seem to turn your mind off. Your day goes by in a haze of anxiety and worry. You don't even know yourself anymore and what you want out of life. You’re not quite sure how you got to this point but you know that something needs to change.
You long to make sense of the confusing jumble of thoughts you are having, and to make the worries go away. You crave a sense of direction with where you’re going with your life. You yearn to be present to the people and things that matter to you. If you choose to work with me, I can help you get there.
I use several modalities, including CBT and DBT, to help you build skills and gain insight into positive changes you can make within your life, including how to cope with difficult emotions, how to manage crises and stressful situations, how to communicate your needs clearly in your relationships, and how to live more mindfully and feel more present within your own life. I work with you to help you address situational stressors that may be contributing to your struggles, along with identifying patterns and core beliefs that may be holding you back from a better life. My treatment focuses on clients seeking help with anxiety, aging, depression, grief, relationship conflicts, and maternal mental health struggles, such as pregnancy loss and perinatal anxiety and depression.
You are entitled to the emotional peace that therapy can provide. As your therapist, it is my goal to create an environment where you can authentically express anything you need, and to feel heard, seen, and valued, in order to achieve the healing you so deeply desire.
