I specialize in childhood, adolescence, and young adult issues, especially, those concerning addiction/substance abuse, traumatic events, Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender concerns. I focus on addressing the underlying causes and improving symptom severity rather than labeling the issues themselves. In doing so, I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in order to help my clients reach their personal goals. I offer comprehensive psychological services, including individual, group and family treatment, psychological assessment and evaluation, and consultation. I personalize my services to ensure that each client's unique needs are met and I incorporate my client's feedback at every stage of the process. I am confident that I am the right therapist to help your teenager or young adult transition into independence and overcome their problems.

I have worked in the mental health field as a therapist for substance abusing teenagers in the Juvenile Drug Court program at the County of Orange Health Care Agency, a mental health evaluator for Orange County's dependents in conjunction with Social Services, a therapist at Orange Coast College's student health center, a suicide interventionist for IMAlive, and a volunteer therapist at a transitional shelter.

I am extensively trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also extensively trained in addictions treatment, trauma, LGBT concerns and human sexuality, Internet Addiction Disorder, excessive technology use treatment, and child advocacy and maltreatment issues.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love watching clients grow, make connections on their own, and improve their lives. A client's journey is filled with so many opportunities for improvement and growth and it is a privilege to share that journey with my clients.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Clients with diabetes or cancer do not feel shame or embarrassment for receiving medical attention for their illnesses, so why should clients with mental health concerns? If you had an odd lump, infection, or concern, you wouldn't hesitate to contact your doctor for a consultation or follow-up appointment, the same courtesy should be extended to your mental health!
