Life can be painful, confusing, hard to navigate and sometimes you just need some help to get through the rough parts. It's really important to me that my clients know I have only their best interest at heart and to create a place where they can share their feelings, thoughts, and experiences that have been unsharable for them. I help you to heal and find your own path to your best life. It can be hard, scary work but it's worth it, you can feel better.

More Info About My Practice

When you contact me by either email or phone we will schedule a free phone consultation. Our phone time is to both help me understand why you'd like to start therapy as well as gives you a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me and if you think I'm the right person to help you.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Finding a "good fit" is so important to having a positive experience in therapy. Once you've gone to a therapist, made the financial investment in establishing that relationship and shared a huge chunk of hard stuff, it can be really difficult to realize that your therapist isn't a good fit for you and then start over with someone else.

There are great therapists out there and it's worth a little extra time and effort at the beginning to figure out who will be most helpful to you on your path to feeling and being better.

To find a good fit start off by calling a handful of therapists who appeal to you. You may be looking for someone who focuses on a certain issue, practices a certain theory, or comes from a particular background. When you call a handful of people you can compare how they respond to you. The goal is to both see how they set the tone in their work with you.

Have a phone consultation with a few different therapists and you'll see the differences between them. You want to see who you feel at ease and understood by and who you feel you understand yourself. You are free to have the consultations, which are typically free of charge, and not make an appointment during that phone conversation. Take the time you need to make your decision.
