I discovered my passion for counseling through working in youth ministry throughout my undergraduate studies. I began to recognize that so many people are bombarded with negative situations that are of their control. This led me to seek a career in school and community counseling. I enjoy connecting with others, hearing their stories, and learning about what makes them who they are. My goal is to help people discover their strengths and utilize them to reach their goals. I work with a strength based approach to transform negative thinking and self-talk to positive thinking and an improved sense of self-worth. Every person deserves the space and resources to become their best self.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have experience working with a variety of presenting concerns including self-injury, stress, anxiety, anger, bereavement, depression, and trauma.

I am trained in EMDR, which is a client centered modality of therapy used to treat PTSD and trauma.

My work as a school counselor has also increased my experience working with adolescents and parents.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Therapy can help you gain an outside perspective on what you are dealing with. It is common to get stuck in the same routines and ways of thinking and reacting that have a snowball effect, leaving you stuck. Sometimes all it takes is a positive and supportive relationship to help you break the cycle and make some positive changes in your life.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to support and encourage you to recognize ways you can positively change yourself. I will provide a helping, accepting, safe environment for you to reach your goals. I do not give advice or tell you what you should do. You are the expert on yourself and will make your own decisions, I am your ally in helping you get to where you want to be.
