My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in the treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders. Believing in everyone’s innate ability to create change in their own life, I offer a warm and comfortable space for clients to explore their journey.
I work with adolescents and adults and pride myself in the practice of both family and couples’ therapy. I am trained in providing therapy to our first responders and their families. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy while maintaining a client-centered focus: firmly aware that we are all a product of our upbringing. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindful based stress reduction, and trauma-focused therapy. I have extensive experience in treating significant mental health disorders including mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as, attachment related and relational difficulties. In addition, I also have extensive training in the treatment of eating disorders.
Working in a private practice setting since 2005; I previously coordinated treatment in partial hospital programs, intensive outpatient programs, as well as substance abuse and DUI programs. I collaborate with local and suburban high schools, facilitating workshops for students, teachers, and school administration on various topics pertaining to emotional wellness.
Obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology & criminology from Dominican University in 2001, I completed a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan in 2003.
I am available for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and most Saturday mornings. I provide telehealth appointments in addition to in-person appointments out of my Burr Ridge office.
