My Approach to Helping
I provide support to young adults who are struggling to keep up the many demands of adulthood. Managing relationships, employment, school and daily life tasks can feel completely overwhelming. This is why I encourage clients to not only verbally process life stressors but also to take action during our sessions. What does taking action look like in therapy? Maybe it?s paying a parking ticket that hasn?t been paid yet but continues to be a source of stress. Or, maybe it?s creating a weekly calendar to help organize your schedule. Whatever the daunting task may be, I want you to leave our sessions feeling accomplished and motivated to tackle whatever comes your way.
I have 8+ years combined experience in education and social services, and particularly enjoy working with young adults who are seeking the skills to become independent. I utilize a person-centered approach, which empowers and motivates clients to reach their therapeutic goals. During the initial therapy sessions, you can expect to establish a treatment plan that feels authentic and check-in intermittently to gauge progress. Ongoing, clients will feel challenged in a way that feels empowering without compromising feelings of safety.
