My Approach to Helping

My approach is a balance of practical solution-based work and cutting edge internally-focused therapies. I integrate neurobiology and CBT with evidenced-based somatic therapies, such as Internal Family Systems and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. This approach provides high quality holistic care to my clients. As a result, in therapy with me, we quickly and efficiently make progress and meet goals. My clients often report that they are surprised at their ease in which we move so quickly and how comfortable they feel being themselves. Through our work together, you will become more connected to yourself, other human beings, and your environment. If you are looking for highly effective therapy that is both holistic and scientifically sound, I encourage you to reach out. Let me show you that with a little commitment and vulnerability, lasting change is possible for you.

Much of my work is centered on teaching mindfulness. Utilizing mindfulness is an important component of emotional intelligence, reduces stress on the nervous system, and increases resilience. In session, we may practice mindfulness while exploring emotions, sensations, and thoughts in your present moment. Using mindful attention, we’ll heal and release root stresses and outdated belief systems that have been hindering your growth. In addition, I enjoy using humor as we co-create novel experiences together. Humor and novelty in an open environment helps break outdated patterns and explore new ways of being, thinking, feeling, and choosing. Lastly, I always welcome my clients to explore their individual spirituality, and believe it is spirituality that ultimately drives us and sets the foundation for individual expression.

More Info About My Practice

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Palo Alto University. During my undergraduate work, I had the unique experience of facilitating personal growth and exploration groups for students within the university. During graduate school, I had the honor of interning at Capital Area Counseling in Austin, where I provided counseling to individuals of various backgrounds and socioeconomic status. Here, I also facilitated a mindfulness group designed to introduce individuals to the practice of mindfulness in everyday living.

I strive to be authentic, congruent and empathic in all aspects of my life, and inspire others to do the same. I feel most spiritually connected and content when exploring the outdoors with my pups Sascha and Maple. My work is inspired by my own gratitude for personal relationships and the meaning those have in my life. I am honored to walk alongside you and provide guidance on your journey of self-exploration and peace-seeking.
