More Info About My Practice

I am an Out-of-network provider for most PPO plans. If you have a PPO and I am not In-network for your plan, I can give you monthly receipts to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Call your plan's toll-free telephone # to learn about their policies for working with an out-of-network provider.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons. If there is a part of yourself that you find hard to accept, this may have you waging a war against yourself and feeling exhausted by the battle. Together, we can shed light on these divided factions, ultimately creating a more cohesive sense of self. By integrating these parts of yourself, you can begin to defuse the war and feel more at peace. As your therapist, I'll ask you questions that invite you to explore your own emotional and psychic terrain. I can guide you through territory which may have been too scary or painful to tackle on your own. By examining current patterns of behavior and reflecting on your past, we can reveal unconsciously held beliefs that may be holding you back. Insight leads to awareness, which provides the foundation for lasting change.

Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work

As a therapist, I'm playful, practical, and collaborative. I have a warm, empathic approach. I enjoy working with men and women of all cultural backgrounds, ethnicities and orientations. I have a special interest in working with artists, writers and musicians and exploring issues related to the creative process. My therapeutic orientation is grounded in an appreciation of the integral relationship between the mind, body, spirit and emotions. I am passionate about my work, which has been influenced by Buddhist philosophy, mindfulness meditation and transpersonal philosophies. Through the use of visualization, metaphor and the exploration of dream imagery, I help people to shed light on unconscious material, frame their experiences in new ways, and arrive at all together new meanings.
