My Approach to Helping
I offer a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment in which I work with you to resolve difficult and often confusing emotions, improve communication, and develop a more vibrant, intentional, and healthy way of life.
Together we can work to develop appropriate goals and means by which to achieve them. For some, a traditional talk therapy approach may be most suitable, whereas others may enjoy and benefit from a more dynamic, creative, and expressive experience.

You may be aware of your wounds- difficult emotions that result from trauma, grief, and loss. Unfortunately, ignoring these feelings and memories rarely works and we end up restricting our lives and avoiding people, places, and things that may remind us of these wounds. I believe many of these feelings must be faced and worked with, even learned from, before you can move on and live a full and enriching life. I offer a kind, compassionate, steady hand as you begin to work with, befriend, and resolve these emotions and memories.
You might simply feel frustrated, like you are stuck replaying the same dysfunctional drama over and over. I offer an objective and impartial viewpoint from which I empower you to increase awareness and develop alternative methods to problem solving, communication, and improving relationships.
You might simply want to improve your life and live more purposefully and authentically. I can help you explore how you show up in the world and assist you in moving in a more authentic and congruent direction.
I work with every client as a unique individual. Rather than looking at what is “wrong” with you, I focus on the inherent health of your actions. I believe many behaviors, feelings, and styles were at one point a healthy and creative adjustment to a difficult situation. I can assist you in developing awareness around this process and empower you to make new choices that may serve you better.

I use EMDR to help people process and let go of traumatic memories and trauma based behaviors.
I use EFT (emotion focused therapy) in my work with couples. A research based approach proven to help couples rebuild their bond and get through betrayals, breaches of trust, and high conflict.
