My Approach to Helping
Most people come to my office to begin psychotherapy because they know they appear to others as outwardly accomplished in their relationships and careers. However, in private, they tell me that they are actually distressed about problems that often have been with them most of their lives. John (not a real person) represents actual dilemmas real people face. For example, when John is alone, he feels the full impact of his anxiety, depression and persistent aloneness. John has chosen the path of psychotherapy to address his issues. Here is how we work together.
More Info About My Practice
To continue, John brings a commitment, determination and curiosity to the table. As for me, as a socially conscious clinical social worker and contemporary psychoanalyst/psychotherapist, I bring years of experience and clinical depth as John and I work jointly to discover the root of his distress. As his therapy progresses, John (and those who can relate to him) experiences a shift from a profound emptiness to a more robust inner life marked by less fearful, defensive interactions with others in his daily life. In conclusion, people referred to me call on the recommendation of former patients. In addition, I consult with interested professionals in matters regarding mental health and emotional well being.
