My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California and have over 5 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy and psychosocial assessments to adults 18+ years seeking treatment for depressionanxiety, trauma, relationship dynamics and interpersonal skills, burnout, grief and loss, and life transitions. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in music at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and received my Masters Degree in Social Work at San Diego State University.
I believe in an integrative, eclectic, and collaborative approach. I am experienced in cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused models and am passionate about using mind-body connections to improve mental health. I am also a certified yoga instructor and love integrating movement into therapeutic work. I emphasize the role of environmental and cultural factors in mental health treatment; I empower my clients to harness their existing strengths while building new resources to thrive.
I understand that the foundation of any helping relationship is trust, connection, and willingness to grow. I seek to create a space of wholeheartedness, nonjudgement, and learning in treatment to help all clients; I am LBGTQIA+ affirmative and accepting of all identities, bodies, and life experiences.
