My Approach to Helping
Maggie Liu is a licensed therapist based in Southern California, who works with clients online throughout California. Many of her clients are looking to manage anxiety and worry, explore changes and transitions in their lives, improve and strengthen the relationships most important to them, and explore issues around identity.
Maggie’s approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, or understanding the influence of early relationships and experiences on present behavior. Maggie also works to help clients notice their emotions and what is happening in their bodies, and learn to soothe parts of themselves that may need attention.
Maggie’s client’s have described her as supportive and non-judgmental, and have appreciated her thought-provoking questions and attentiveness.
Maggie’s priority in her relationships with clients is to create a safe and respectful environment for clients to come forward with whatever they are experiencing. She brings a deep care and respect to her work, and appreciates getting to know clients in all of their uniqueness and complexity.
