My Approach to Helping
I have experience working with adults and adolescents with a wide array of difficulties for over a decade. Some of the problems I have helped people with include substance use disorders, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, identity development, relational problems, low self-esteem, and LGBT related issues.
I am experienced working within a Jungian paradigm, which emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and the Self as a whole. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions depending upon client needs.
Psychotherapy is a unique experience. It is a relationship between client and therapist that involves working through challenges, reflecting upon and understanding important experiences in our lives and making meaning of them. Psychotherapy can be about relating to the process of personal growth together with the therapist through the witnessing and the relaying of stories from one's life. Please feel free to contact me for a free consultation to determine how I can be of help to you.
