My Approach to Helping
You are important and so is your story. As a therapist, I place great emphasis on making my clients feel safe in our counseling relationship. I work to create a place that is free of judgement and one where clients can recognize their own strengths and autonomy. I seek to help clients work through their current issues and grow in their abilities to handle challenges that arise in the future. I received my training at a seminary and work at a Christian counseling private practice. I am happy to bring faith into our work if you would like to do so; I also see clients from all faith backgrounds. Each client is different, which means my approach to therapy changes depending on the needs of my clients.
One type of approach I use is EMDR therapy. EMDR helps those dealing with PTSD, abuse, and other forms of trauma reprocess traumatic memories and decrease the distress caused by them. This type of therapy can be instrumental in helping clients find healing from some of the most painful moments in their lives.
I have experience working with ages 4 through adult and have successfully helped clients with divorce, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, job changes, relationship issues, and more. I would be honored to get a chance to hear part of your story.
