My Approach to Helping
Have you lost your smile? Are you finding it hard to enjoy life because of anxious, stressful thoughts and feelings? Personally, it bothers me to see people robbed of positive life experiences due to stress and anxiety. Let's be real. No one can control the stresses that arise in life; but, we can learn to change our responses to them. As a therapist and a person, I integrate stress management, mindfulness, mind-body principles with CBT in my therapeutic work with clients, as well as in my own life. I utilize a feedback system that is visual and concrete to assist my clients in learning and achieving stress management skills. I have found this approach to be effective. This is an exciting time in behavioral health. More recent understandings of the brain and it's connections to the body have had a major impact on the interventions and effectiveness of therapy.
