My Approach to Helping
You are capable of making changes in your life and relationships that will last; however, difficult and challenging events often create roadblocks that keep you from being your best self and reaching goals. Whether you are experiencing general stress, panic, anxiety symptoms, or feel overwhelmed, I can help you learn skills for coping that can reduce your symptoms and provide relief. I know it takes bravery to ask for help, so I honor your ability to let me collaborate with you as you find your way to more satisfying living.
I practice therapy that is collaborative and relationship-based. Thus, I realize you do not exist in isolation. You are continually affected by your relationships from the past and the present. As we work toward identifying your strengths, you can learn how to utilize your strengths to build better relationships and communicate with clarity. When working with couples and families, each person's individual strengths are identified, as well as the strengths of the couple andor family as a whole system.
In general, my approach entails providing a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for every person to learn and grow within themselves, their relationships, and their experiences. I am an LGBTQ ally, sex positive, poly and kink friendly and am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.
