Asking for help is not easy, especially from a stranger. For this reason, my main goal is to create a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental environment, to set the stage for positive change. This is your journey; you set your goals, and I assist in helping you achieve them. Over the years, I have gained experience working with preteens, adolescents, adults, and families. One of the frameworks I utilize is relational psychotherapy, after completing the child and adolescent relational psychotherapies program at the National Institute for Psychotherapies in 2015.

More Info About My Practice

I am currently a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, which utilizes an integrative psychotherapy approach that focuses on particular problems or traumas. EMDR is most effective for recent and/or early-life trauma, accidents and assaults, trauma-based depression, grief and traumatic loss, attachment problems, phobias, performance anxiety, persistent disturbing memories, and generalized low self-esteem. After successful treatment with EMDR, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs about yourself are changed, and physiological discomfort is reduced or no longer persists.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

We are all human, so no one is perfect. Our experiences throughout life shape who we are, and during that time we learn ways to adapt or cope with challenges. Therapy exists to give you a non-biased, objective perspective related to your life and roadblocks keeping you from reaching your goals. Taking part in therapy means you are quite the opposite of weak- it takes a lot strength to even walk through the door and hardwork throughout the therapeutic journey.
