My Approach to Helping
I know starting therapy can be scary. Especially if you are seeking therapy due excessive worry, overthinking, and self-doubt. I want you to know this is normal and I recognize the amount of courage it takes to seek out help. My goal is to help make your transition into therapy be as comfortable as possible, and to prioritize your feelings of safety, trust, and comfort throughout our relationship together.
I have struggled with anxiety in my own life, so beyond clinical experience, I personally understand how devastating it can be. While it's true that anxiety is a normal part of life, some of us will experience such intense anxiety that it ends up paralyzing us. Whether you’ve been struggling with worry due to a recent stressful event, avoiding situations that induce fear and dread, experiencing panic attacks, or find yourself spiraling with “what if” questions, anxiety in any form can cause severe suffering. What's worse, we often suffer in silence, afraid to open up to people because they don't understand what we're experiencing and we fear they will minimize our feelings, or worse, that they will judge us. Let me assure you, what you are going through is very common and relief is possible.
Through years of professional training and experience, I have developed an expertise in anxiety treatment. I teach clients effective strategies to stop overthinking, build confidence, and finally be free of worry and panic. I work with individuals who are tired of their anxiety taking the driver's seat, and are ready to feel in control of their lives again.
